This Pine package has been built with support for storing IMAP passwords locally. Before running the pine executable, touch a file called 'pine.pwd' in your home directory, this patched version of pine will ask for the password once then ask if you'd like pine to keep it locally in the file. NOTE: if you don't create this file first, pine won't ask you if you want to store the password locally. Also make sure to specify username in the inbox-path of your .pinerc, for example something like the following string: inbox-path={mail.csee.wvu.edu/user=riggs/ssl/novalidate-cert}INBOX Additional Note: As per Jarod King, this custom .deb will NOT be supported by the CSEE Systems Staff. We support only official packages from the Debian organization for the Debian Stable OS. By installing this package, you are doing so at your own risk and will receive NO SUPPORT from the CSEE Systems Staff whatsoever. - 2003-05-07 David A. Riggs
